I don’t know about you, but I’ve had moments where I’ve stood on the edge of something big —something I’ve wanted for years— and then… I hesitate.

I procrastinate.

I close the tab and get to my ‘real work.’

Maybe it’s fear. Maybe it’s laziness.

Maybe self-doubt whispering, Come on, get real Ren.. a travel blog?

Maybe it’s the fact that every idea has already been “done”, and every dream has already been lived by someone else.

But then I think classic story about the shepherd boy named David.

I’m sure you know it.

A scrawny kid goes up against a literal GIANT warrior — totally outmatched.

Everyone’s telling him he can’t do it, his brothers laugh at him and tell him to leave the battle to the ‘qualified’ people.

But David looks around at the fearful, reluctant army and says something that stops me in my tracks every time:

Is there not a cause?

That question shakes me.

Because, honestly, if you strip away all the doubt, and procrastination, the “waiting for the perfect time”… isn’t there a reason to fight for what’s inside of you?

Where is truth?

To add a little fuel to the fire, we’re living in a time where the lines of truth are blurred.

Facts are shaped and reshaped, narratives are edited and rewritten, and the tides of influence shift with the same kind of force that brought kingdoms and empires to their knees throughout history.

In a world where the truth is so blurry, we can’t help but wonder —what is real?

What is worth fighting for?

I’ve come to the conclusion that the answer isn’t out there—it’s inside you.

Your experiences.
Your convictions.
Your story.

Those are the undeniably real things.

How we win

David didn’t win because he had better armor or years of training.

He won because he showed up when no one else would.

He took a slingshot and did what he could with what he had.

And maybe that’s all we need to do too.

If you’re waiting to feel ready—if you’re standing on the sidelines of something you know is meant for you but you’re overthinking every step—this is your reminder:

The fight is rarely ever against a giant. It’s against the voice that tells you to stay small.

And so it’s in this spirit and with this heart that I welcome you to my travel blog.

Melodramatic much? Maybe.

But if there’s something inside you that’s burning and pulling you forward— maybe it’s time to pick up your slingshot and take your shot.

The world is loud, but your story, experiences and perspectives still matter.

And you don’t need to be any more ready then you are right now.

Let’s go!
